the distributor is setup to run from a carburetor port, not from intake port. Some Webers have this port, it would be above the throttle plate. But most DCOE does not have it.

there is a threaded port with a plug in it currently in the Cannon intake, if I put a vacuum connection in it would it function properly or is the stock dist. setup to operate off some advance curve that kicks in at some rpm range only?

The engine will run OK w/o the vacuum advance. It will run better with it, assuming it's not broken.

Thanks Dave, obviously most questions related to not having a stock manifold. After looking at the charcoal canister pic I realized may even have one of these so that'll work.
I've got a bunch of linkage stuff to play with as well so i guess it fiddle time. I assumed the engine will perform better with the vacuum advance connected but maybe thats not true & I can get away with just plugging it off.

> 2)linkage & accelerator cable setups for a DCOE - what are people using, will the stock cable work?
Yes to stock cable. Here is what I am using, my manifold has a "cable tower" and then a DCOE-style bell-crank: ![]() For a single-carb, people remove the stock Hitachi cable quadrant and bolt it to the weber throttle shaft.

> 3)Firewall mounted tank vent/breather & hose connections, where do those get routed?
You have a couple of choices: 1. Original system: Use the Flow Guide Valve and connect to air cleaner. 2. Newer 1200 system: connect to a Charcoal Canister

> 1) What do you do with/for the vac advance when running a DCOE side-draft carb - stock A15 distributor, electronic ignition
No need to connect it. Plug the advance diaphaghm for a neat look. > 4)The 3rd port on the water outlet on the block I assume was connected to the stock intake maniford for cooling, just cap it off? Yes.

A few questions as I'm putting it all back together - I think I've got the dash wiring pretty well sorted out but other thoughts I'm having are:
1) What do you do with/for the vac advance when running a DCOE side-draft carb - stock A15 distributor, electronic ignition 2)linkage & accelerator cable setups for a DCOE - what are people using, will the stock cable work? 3)Firewall mounted tank vent/breather & hose connections, where do those get routed? 4)The 3rd port on the water outlet on the block I assume was connected to the stock intake maniford for cooling, just cap it off? ![]() thanks!
