$2.2k for a Kaaz plus fitting it into the nugget is pretty good!

Brand new and service parts available, beats a mega $$ 30 year old item any day..

What would be the pro's and con's between 1.5-way and 2-way LSD's with regards to track and gymkhana use? I've got a 2-way LSD currently installed, would like to know if there will be any advantage of trying to change it to a 1.5-way.

going off topic, but nickmitty got his answer anyway earlier

unfam
nick is speaking a bit of nick-o-lish or has bad memory i think, there is no preload, they just put the strongest springs they can physically stuff in them, we've been rallying with the same phantom grip for years (waiting for a topgear torsen). phantom is awesome in wet and on dirt, if your honestly needing it on dry bitumen you prob have too much power for one. once it wears out there is no shimming, they become less effective so you just replace it

phantom will always be the poor mans LSD (never as good as a real LSD) but is quite effective for the price

I understand it puts a little more weight on the box, but 1 or 2 hp and thats all it would be, makes no difference. It's more for towing a small bike trailer and I dont want to get bogged down out in the middle of no-where. And if I do hit my 2nd wind and 3rd childhood, I still have my old motor from 25yrs ago (way before everyone stuffed turbo's in everything) that use to eat xu1's in a datto 1000 in the back of the shed.(probably seized.. Ha)

Depending on how you drive a phantom can last for a long time, to my memory mic had it in a rally car for 2 years then I had it in a road car for bout the same and at the end it started slipping but just needed to be re shimmed, if only using car as a daily or so with little power I'd strongly say don't go 1.5 or 2 way as the rob u of some power and 100hp if that all your gonna have will drop a fair bit and you may not be happy with it! That's wat I think

Why would i buy a phantom grip and so on and so on. Do it once and forget about it. (quality not quantity) The money is definitely not a factor. More peace of mind. And no Im not after huge power either. If you saw the ol girl it was going into , you'd laugh.

i dont see my l16 doing more than 150hp, so could be an option.... after rwc.

how long do they last mic? long enough at my rate of driving not to care probably.

and how did you calc preload? probably the more preload the quicker it wears out and more strain on the shafts yeah?
