well there you go. You lean something new all the time. I thought it did, but then again i was 17 at the time and still learning about all things automotive.

Did the slant 6 engines use a "hemi" style combusition chamber still?

I dont know all that much about the centuras either. I havent talked vals since I sold mine.

Nah slants were pretty 'normal' I think. The hemi's werent even real hemispherical, theyre more of a wedge shape chamber.

Enough of the vals, I bought dattos so I wouldnt have to deal with any of chryslers crazy hi-tech ideas LOL

Even the 225, 245 and 265 'Hemi' didn't use the hemispherical combustion chamber. It was all a big lie to cash in on the popular V8.

Yeah the c*** drove off too. It sent the vh flying about 10m, it took out their letterbox.

the front of the car was inline with that tree on the far left. I overexaggerated on the damage front

That would be quite significant impact. In a datsun that'd be wheelchair territory.

im with you on the slant 6. awsome engine even in stock form. I have a lot of wild memories bieng in a centura slant 6 (245ci from memory), bieng a general nusiance to the neighborhood. Made anything ford or holden look stupid and it was an auto!.
Bit of soft spot for the old vals. Maybe when im rich and famous, or just rich will do, ill buy a centura for a project.

245's were hemi's not slants, don't think centura's had slants. My brother's vh ranger had a 215 hemi, used to punish d***heads in clubsport dunnydores. Up until some wanker in a truck full of furniture decided to plow into the back of it while it was parked outside his house early one morning. Put the taillights just under the back window.

I still own a VG 770 regal, and a valiant charger.
There are many who would decry your remark about slant sixes being horrible. I saw one in a mag doing 10's. and they were reknwoned for being a better engine than the rubbish that ford and holden were using at the time. BUt boy they are a faaaaaarking heavy old donk.

Cool. I used to have a VF regal 4dr with a 225 slant. Horrible, horrible engine. I miss the car though. I tracked down the latest owner who has good intentions for it but short on money and time.

it's mounted on top of a supercharger.
It would be legal if I went and saw a cert engineer (our local guy is really good to deal with) and got him to certify my car for the supercharger. (Prolly cost about $300)
It's not too high, and the air cleaner would fold like a house of cards if a jaywalker, I mean pedestrian was to hit it. My car has a cert plate for some of the mods, just not the blower.(or the brakes) I can have the blower off in like 30 mins for when I need to pass my 6 monthly roadworthy inspections. (And a spare bonnet with no hole, painted when the rest of the car was)

That Vg val has a forged 318 turbo in it too. (he consumed $745 gas over the weekend)
