i personally havnt had any problems with the alloy ebay rads.. ive had 3 of them in different cars now. And only just bought another one (litterally 10 mins ago!) for my sedan. they are pretty much a bolt in fit into a 1200 bay.
Only problem is that with the cooler, radiator and thermos you pushing it with space. It can be done but its tight. There is no doubt the copper core ones are more reliable, but for $190 delievered i dont care if i have to mend it 4 times lol

Yeah if i didnt already have the camry one for my car, which doesnt fit in the front of a stock 1200 before you ask, i would have gone a custom one and will do with the suzi when i do the CA conversion.
My brother got one done from his 60 series and i think the only thing from the stock radiator they used was the mounts and it was under $400 im pretty sure. Its very tough too. survived a couple of front on incedents that destroyed a bull bar and the radiator just bent a little. still worked perfectly

I honestly looked at the imported alloy cheap ones which would have been good
but after some issues in trying to import them going through the middle men It became a headache with numbers and postage options. I even drew it up very carefully in Illustrator and started a thread as a group buy. Im not cut out for business as Im too all over the place and indecisive. Anyway, went to a radiator joint in Keilor Park that had been there for about 30 years or more and couldnt be happier with my copper 3 core one which was quite a good price and great service. The thing is they told me that business was slow as many go alloy these days and the old dude couldn't compete with imports. Went back the other day to get another made for my CA18 and the joint was gone. Im not saying this is what you should do but copper is a great material and although heavier its easier to repair and can support a local artisan from retiring if you are willing or able to spend the bit extra as Nick has stated.

depends on where the motor is sitting.
In mine i can fit a 3 inch thick cooler, my camry 2 core radiator twin davies craig 12 inch thermos and still have a bit of room to spare before the front pulley Pretty sure s13 radiators are actually too big to fit properly in the front of a 1200 anyway. people use them but im sure there are better fitting radiators out there Also im not really a fan of the ebay $2-300 alloy radiators. Probably better off spending an extra hundred and getting a cutsom made copper one from a good radiator place. Then you can have it made to whatever size you want and know that its of better quality
