Bad head? yes she had braces and back on topic the CA20e
is the most horrible casting Ive yet come across in alloy and its cast here in Oz!! Cast iron Ho-dens rule. Even a suzuki g13b head with 16v make max 200hp NA and weight about 18kg or about 11.1 hp per kilo. So far the A series is the best power to weight followed closely by the L series which if from Stories I heard can make max 238hp with 2v then 18.75 hp per kilo. The A series is still on top

I just edited post it should read HP per kg, I had this
dilemma with a friend trying to choose either a gen3 v8 or toyota lexus twin cam v8. Power to weight regardless of the technology the Chev pushrod heads came out on top. Looking at the bottom ends hp to weight the chev again. Bakat yes please if its complete with rocker cover. Id love to have those weights for those heads DD. My guess is the GA16DE is around 20-21kg or 10% less than similar sized ca18de and the KA24DE 5% more than SR while the QR20DE in between the CA and SR.

You will find that all Nissan 4-valve heads outflow the 2-valve heads for similar size engines.
What are your calculations for the KA24DE from the U11 Bluebird? Also do not forget HR16DE.

As a matter of interest Im getting an enthusiast to
weigh an L series head either l16,18 or 20 all should be similar but I have the weights of the H89, z18et, ca20 & ca18de for a bit of comparison in power to weight. eg. H89 inc camshaft to be fair even though its in the block. A15 H89 + cam is 9+2kg? max power 170hp NA CA18DE is 24kg! max power 240hp-250hp NA Z18ET is 16kg max Turbo power 400hp % 2 = 200hp? L18 is 15kg? max NA 220hp then have to divide all of them by their weight A15 H89 170hp % 11kg? = 15.45 hp CA18DE 240hp % 24kg = 10 hp Z18et 200hp NA % 16kg = 12.5 hp L18 220hp % 15kg? = 14.666 hp SR20DE 300hp % 28kg? = 10.71 hp You can view topic.
