Another option is moving/slotting the engine mounts a touch. Even spacing one up a bit could help. Maybe try puting a jack with a block of wood under one edge(where the bolts go) of the sump to experiment before making spacers.

Worth a try if its close.

It is pretty common if you have a Ford or GM or Chrysler for these kind of clearance problems to occur -- heat and bend or heat & hammer is the usual solution.

A14 and A15 are identical as far as extractors go. Mine do not foul on the idler arm, they are EECustom extractors ex-Japan, designed for A12 for Datsun 1200 specifically, but I have them on an A14.




Here's an Aussie set that come close to the idler:

just get a exhaust shop to heat it up and bend it in till it clears wont cost much and wont make a noticeable difference to sound or power

what sort of extractors did you run??

Will still flow ok- not great. I had some in ute, sedan, coupe, with a15 never an issue

id give the oxy a go, but i dont have one, and also the fouling has dented one of the pipes in nearly a quarter of the way, so i think i might be up for some new ones...
after going down to the datto cruise on the weekend im amazed that you can fit in, and drive a ute! #OOPS# i struggle sometimes and im not that tall!!

I'm running an A15 motor in my 120y with 4 into 1 extractors which I got new through an exhaust shop and dont have any issues with fowling on anything. Not sure about the 1200 model though.

Hey all, just wondering if anybody running an A15 in their 1200 has problems with extractors fouling on the idler arm? and if you dont have problems, what extractors are you running? any help appreciated! cheers!
