8mm was generous for you- I agree.
The pinion gear is the cheapest but there ate only a few available from my research. Correction boxes well used in the 4wd world to correct diff and tyre changes. It gives you almost unlimited options to correct speedo readings

I'd second unfamilia's advice, if you can do the work yourself

I'd go with unfamialia's post (not the stuff about me!), he is a tight ass so thats probably the cheapest & best option :)

Wouldn't it be cheaper changing the Pinion Gear to one with more teeth? They are $30

That jay car is for electric speedos our cars were blessed with mechanical speedo drives.
Try speedscreen in vic- it's as accurate as you will get and save $100 to $200 compared to a technician. Also if you change tyre size or profile or diff ratio measure the rotations again and send it to them- $30 and they change the 4 gears inside it to read true once more. Still shead of the so called guage technicians price ![]()

You can buy a correction kit similar to what unfamilia mentioned from Jaycar.
If you'd prefer an instrument technician to do it it'll set you back $220-300. Hope it helps. Cheers, Tom

I'm not sure, I got a appeal correction box instead. You measure the rotations on the cable over 10m tell them, fork out $120 and you get a nice box to screw between gearbox and speedo cable and it reads right. I got mine to still read slightly quicker - 105kmh at 100kmh so I wouldn't speed
