#10 Re: Car Shakes at idle and ping while driving with ac ?

do what david suggests - play with the a/f screw & the idle speed & try to adjust it out.

This looks like the Throttle Opener:

And this is EGR:

* EGR valve in back
* EGR BPT in front
* EGR cut-off solenoid near the top

The EGR system looks correctly disconnected so it won't cause a vacuum leak. Don't change it to try to fix the shaking problem.

The shaking problem can't be caused by the FICD unless you connected the wrong hose to the FICD. I do not see FICD in the photos.

You don't need FICD. Just raise the throttle speed 100 RPM. And be sure to adjust the idle air/fuel mixture correctly -- if it is a little lean it may idle OK without the extra load. But shake too much with the extra load

Have you re-adusted the a/f mixture yet? If not, go do that now.

Hi EDP

it is mounted on the side of the carb , i will remove my air cleaner and get a clear pic today,i got several bare lines just lying without connecting anywhere and closed like this.

looks kind of like a choke pull off - is it mounted on the side of the carb or manifold, kinda hard to tell. Could be the EGR as well.

You wont hurt anything by trying to hook it up, it may not work though. if its only a vacuum line try that - does it have a wire running to it as well?

Hi Guys

I think it has got FICD, Is this the one ?
does it need voltage and vacuum both or just vacumm
i think it has not been connected, do i need to go to my usual mechanic who is 60 km away or can i connect it my self,any body knows how to connect it etc ? i must remove air cleaner and see how the setup there

thanks

A/C will not change the timing. A slight shake is normal because of the increased load to engine.

Be sure to adjust the idle air/fuel mixture correctly -- if it is a little lean it may idle OK without the extra load. But shake too much with the extra load.

The shake and the ping could both be caused by a vacuum leak. Did you try to fit a FICD? It uses vacuum but you might have it connected incorrectly.

what type of fan do you use, the fixed version or the 'clutched' version? any coolant temperature increase if you turn on the AC?

unlike modern AC systems that datto versions did not increase the idle automatically when the AC is on, so your idle is probably just too low

you will loose power with AC on no matter what, but it should not ping, possibly need a little less timing, or as suggested better fuel will also prevent it (maybe use an octane booster additive in the tank on hot days?)

read the tuning spec's for setup with AC - should require a higher idle then non AC or just try increasing the idle speed while running the car w/AC on & see where that leaves you when you turn the AC off.

Pinging is the timing or in need of a higher octane fuel.

Hi Guys

I gor my b310 tunned car is working perfect without ac no shaking no stalling or pinging , But when the ac is on it starts to shake while idle and while driving with ac it pings badly ,when putting ac on car loose it power drastically and pinging
what would be the cause an electrical issue ?leave your suggestions guys.

thanks
