The Honda was recently crashed and is being repaired for the 2012 SE QLD sprint series. It's a neat little car.

On mine because it is a track only car, I've taken out the door windows and mechs, when upgrading the cage I got rid of most of the sound deadening material, running lexan side windows etc. but could still run lexan rear window.
I have this silly idea that getting the car (with the overbuilt cage that must weight 170lbs) down to some crazy number like 1475 without driver.............currently I'm at around 1650. Nothing money won't cure......................make the whole chassis out of carbon fiber and use an alloy block and it might get down to 1300lbs..............anyone want a $250,000 Datsun 1200!!!!! Tom PS I still haven't got into the aero mods..................flush windshield, smooth drip rails.

Depends on the class you are running in. Should only be an issue if you plan to run in a road registered or historic class.

Have you already done the easy and free options like removing the spare tyre, tool kit, jack, passenger seats, factory seat belts, trim panels, roof lining etc?
What about cheap options like removing all sound deadening, cutting out all unused brackets, swiss cheesing the remaining brackets, cutting the excess length off all bolts and screws, removing the dash and using a a small alloy panel for the gauges and warning lights, cutting out the spare wheel well and covering the hole with an alloy panel, fitting lexan side and rear windows?

This is a really good point. I constantly sees guys at the track who are 15-30kg overweight yet have gone to the trouble of fitting lightweight alloy wheel nuts, carbon panels, lightweight fuel cells etc.
