yes, solder works well. See Float Repair. New ones are only $13 from nissan usa, but zero is even less expensive.

if they are brass floats(should be) and they are not floating( filling up with fuel) easy to fix with solder. cheaper than new ones.

a friend of mine recently bought a 240Z with original twin hitachis. it is very rare in my country. most probably the float/floats is out of service, and my question is, do those 44mm's use same float with those 38mm's Hitachis?
