No dotars is department of transport and regional services (last bit is I think) they deal with import and export of cars.
They can advise you of exporting cars- might be on their web site. If I scrounged up 1k I'd offer that to keep it in Australia lol

Sweet. Cheers guys for the advice. I figured yeah, if the money clears then we'll be all good. I also said, I won't be doing anymore than dropping it off for him. I won't be organising anything. I'll keep the forum posted on it. I'll also recommend the above shipping company to him. Cheers

As the Japs tend to scrap their old cars, this will happen more in the future i bet.
If you have the money before it ships, i see no problem. Goodluck

As long as it's all paid in full I don't see a problem, just make sure transport is covered 100%
I shipped a car to tassie which I see sorta the same! I made the new owner make the booking and pay for it all I had to do was drop it off at the doc and say it was for ..... And left the car and went home! Just ask for a recipt signed from new owner!

Hey guys, i've been trying to sell my wagon here in S.A for a while now, and no takers. So, I've contacted a guy from Japan who was keen to buy it on ebay and he's going to buy it. Just wondering whether any of you guys had sent cars overseas before, or dealt with any dodgy japanese people. Obviously I'm a little bit cautious about this transaction, but it's not selling here and money is money. Any advice, help would be appreciated. Thanks very much, matt.
