Tom most 240z 260z fairlady peeps see the light when they put an LS or windsor with the config you just mentioned as the L6 is usually around 12 lbs heavier than an all cast iron windsor with cast iron heads.
I would love a 1200 coupe with extended front end moving struts or modern aftermarket wishbone setup forward to have a 99inch wheelbase or 10 inches longer than the standard. This will allow a windsor or almost mid mounted L series with Ka24de head to handle like a demon.

Here is a surprising tidbit.............friend is a Ford stalwart in one of our bench racing sessions it came up that a 5.0 liter V8 with aluminum heads and light flywheel weighs in at 375lbs. A complete T-5 tranny to match is 92 lbs so basically the package is not much more than an SR20 AND the V8 easy puts out 300HP with little effort .
The thing that got me is how cheap the stuff is.........$500 for alloy heads (bare)........................now if I had a spare 1200 I might be tempted to play with this......................as if I have the time. Tom You can view topic.
