It can mean that you may have checked them after the engine was warming up (choke on).
Check them with engine stopped after fully warm driving. If that's the case, your engine may be burning oil, or may be running rich. Time to give the engine a full Compression Test (wet & dry) to check for weak rings.

Hi guys checked my spark plugs today they are very oily,what does this mean.The plugs also smell of petrol.
