mate, qlders can only get 1.8l turbos registered so that's your only option between the two. The laws will properly change in the future and you wont be able to do the ca18 either. So try to get the car done sooner rather then later.

SR20DET mounting into a 1200 ute?

Hi guys well I have decided not to go with the rotary engine into my 1200 datsun ute.
Mainly because thier is no guarante as far as being able to register it is concerned, I have spoken to a couple of engineers around hear and they said that its a bit of a greay area even with the N/A 12 12A. I like the idea of either a SR20DET or the CA18DET atleast I know I can get these registered, I was thinking about the 4AGE but their does not seem to be as much info available on them. I like the idea of being able to buy bolt in kits from mazdat and I know I can do that for the SR/CA. Which brings me to my next question the conversion kit for the SR costs a fair bit more than the one for the CA on Mazdat and I was wondering if anyone has used anything else other than these kits gtom mazdat for mounting a SR20 into their ute. Another reason why I like the SR is because thier seems to be alot more SR20 engine & gearbox packages on the market. Thanks Andy You can view topic.
