The Vega ranks up there with some other american classics like the Chevette, the Citation , Monza(all GM by the way...) the Pinto & I'm sure more but the Vega was a giant POS car that was totally unreliable. Very poorly manufactured, junky & rattled like crazy. i used to haved a customer who'd bought one new & came by the shop quite often for all kinds of misc failings on the car.

Oh yeah, they rusted out easily, probably more so then the 1200....

just my humble opinion

In the US the uncut Vegas are very rare and overpriced, even as a shell. The one that brings the most money is the Cosworth version.

this vega is like alley mcbeale (spelling?) from some angles she was a good looking bird, from others she looked out of proportion and weird

checking the google images, from some angles it does look nice, others it looks bad, i don't think the mods are the big difference between photos, just where the photographer is holding the camera

This is just some lowering, bigger steelies and bumperettes
Nothing ugly about the front end. If I could only chrome the
headlight surrounds in Photoshop but too much work :)

I think its good to give credit to US cars that made an effort
to make a small car which can be fitted with a big engine and
the pics are close to stock, add the mentioned and lower them
and will match any 1200 coupe for looks & crap on toranas.
