Mc Donald Bro kir for sure..... Why not get Ray from Mcdonald bros to do the work for you? I got them to change a few things on my kit which Ray was more then happy to do.. Changing measurements etc... If you haven't given him a call ring him and have a chat. Such a good guy!! People expect all this custom fabricated stuff for next to nothing but after spending months on end doing my 4 link, makes a big difference buying from company's like Mcdonald bro's...

Pretty sure the price he quoted was labour after the clip was supplied. Would cost more than that in parts to supply and fit a back half chassis.

I am building a link rear end in my ute and it is a bit of a mission but I'm having a ball doing it and iv used the McDonalds bros kit and il say they are very well made kits that include everything you need to mould it to your car.
There is other alternative kits out there for shore but from what I know of the gear I have and knolage of the boys at McDonalds bros is it makes for a easy, strong kit to use (realistitly a few hundred more dollars for top knotch gear that you want over the time you want it to last is worth it) with plenty of adjustability.

That's my 2cents guys

If your building a drag car don't bother with a rear clip from them. Horsepower will only get you so far, it's the chassis that makes a car quick. With 300-400HP you really want a well setup rear end to squeeze every tenth out of the car.
There is a big dollar Datsun that comes to mind that uses a McDonald rear clip, it has Horsepower on tap and should be running mid to low 7's but it just cannot run a decent 60ft.
It always comes down to "How fast can you afford to go?"

Get a few quotes from chassis builders

Why not use the 4-link out of a Sunny B310? It even has the brackets, just need to weld them to the 1200 ute. It is quite heavy duty, they used the same on 1983 Silvia with the H190 diff.

Or better yet use the whole rear assembly out of the 1982-1983 silvia it fits under a ute as it is only 2" wider and has disc brakes.

Get a 4link kit from rocket.much cheaper and not as heavy duty as mc bros but will still easily handle it

Sounds like a bargain compared to the Mc D bros kit prices alone!. Plus you know Wards does 1200s not just the stereo type Holden or Ford mods.

The utes are about 800 to 900 kgs so it's not like you are trying to move 1500 kgs as you would with a large HQ or XY , because of this advantage you can get away lighter components and keep them alive, if you want to use the McDonald bits it will be cheaper to buy their "kit" to get all the hardware but then it will take the fabricator longer to adapt it to your application , so from a cost point of view it's 50/50 which way you go . There will be a fair bit of fab work to be done on your chassis anyway because they are built so light you just about have to put a rear chassis clip in it anyway . So there is a few hours of labour there + materials , you would have to budget for at least 1.5 to 2k to do a nice job
