if it runs well all other times but just about stalls if you quickly press the accelerator that is usually the accel pump

you should be able to see fuel squirt in both sides of the carb i think

if it doesnt happen if you stamp throttle at high speed, its probably not accel pump

if its only under heavy load it may be electrical or other issue

im not sure how to check those things, its not the clutch though. i took it to a mechanic today and he reccomended getting a new carby, considering i can get one on ebay for $180
i would have liked to find a cheaper fix but :(

Sounds like it might be fuel. Is the accelerator pump working? (Does it squirt fuel in when you open the throttle?) You can see this with the air cleaner off. Car doesn't need to be running.

Just bought a 1200 ute, when I take off the revs drop right down for half a second then kick right back up, making it a bitch to drive cause u either rev the guts out of it to not do it and not stall, or bunny hop on take off. Is this a common problem? its every time I rev at all under slight load in first gear. once your going it doesnt happen changing gears or anything, just at slow 1st gear takeoffs and when your trying to reverse etc. im thinking it could be a carby problem? would I need to buy a whole new carby ?
