I'm just wanting it for a daily. I ideally want to put a single 40 sidedraft on it but it's impossible to find a manifold. I have a round port one that I'm thinking about honing out to an oval port or even making my own manifold up for it?Or would you just reccomend the 32/36?

he is very clever and spot on actually
32/36 is plenty on an a-series, although im not a fan of them people with twin 40s or even 45s have 32 or 34mm chokes in those carbys, the 40 or 45 is in not comparable to the 38/38 number as they refer to different sections of the carby what will you be using the car for? twin 40s etc arn't well suited to street use due to poor low end you can buy carby brand new on ebay for less than $350 these days, and the problem with rebuilding is that you can never correct the shaft play if there is any. before rebuilding any carby check shaft play (wobble in the throttle linkage) if it has any significant play there dont bother rebuilding, as it will always leak air through the throttle shaft

Carby help

Hey guys I'm after a bit of help. I need to rebuild my weber 38/38 and need some advice. I took it to a garage that specializes in carbys and injection work and got quoted $350 to get it rebuilt plus parts and it could take 2 weeks to do depending on parts and he couldn't even find the carby kit in his books. So I have decided to try and do it myself. I can get a full rebuild kit off eBay no problems but I need help with the jetting so i wanted to see what you guys would recommend? It will be going onto an a15 bored out to 1570cc ported and polished head, 10.5:1 compression, double valve springs, and a whole lot of other goodies. What would you recommend? I also asked someone selling all the carby parts on eBay what to get and he told me the carb was to big to fit to an a15. How is that possible when you see even little a12s running dual 40's? Is he just an idiot or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated
