so did anyone ever find out if the VW golf Flares did fit? and if so who has done it and where are the pics!

The flares look bloody god.. they suit the car really well. I would'nt want to be around if they get dinged by a little old lady in a Volvo/

Anyone thought of those VW Golfs. One across the road from me has pretty beefy standard flares its one of the earlier models. Just a thought.

hey those look GOOD i mihgt have to try and find a srt of those around here to work into the carbon fiber pieces. very good craftsmanship IMO. anohter car i was looking at flares for was the simple late seventies and early to mid eighties ford escort. those thing have some pretty big friggin flares on them. the only downfall is that the bumbers cut into the lower portion so they aren't really usable. oh well i'll just have to keep an eye out for something that mihgt work.

As for the sanding, welding and painting, it depends on which one of us you are asking. If you are asking me, I did the welding but had tensandtwenties do the sanding and painting. Obviously, reverse those if you are asking him. Sorry, I'm in a wise-ass mood this morning.
I'm not sure if the Chrysler corporation ever exported the Omni so I'd doubt that they will be familiar to anyone outside the states. It was a blatant ripoff (sorry if I offend any Chrysler fans or corporate lawyers) of the Volkswagen Rabbit. It did have the most awesome stock fenders I have ever seen though. The flares are huge. I don't remember what I paid for the fenders, not much at a junk yard. You might be able to find some of those Taiwanese knock offs of the Omni fender elsewhere in the world. I wouldn't get my hopes too high on that though since I had trouble finding them here. I guess I should get off my lazy butt and stock up on some junk yard fenders and sell them to you guys. George, you interested in making a buck or two?

how much did they cost do you have any idea what they are off?

Good eye ang94541, that is the rear axle out of a 1980 200SX. It is several inches wider than a 1200 axle, hence the Omni flares.

Very nice. You say those are from the front of a Dodge Omni type car? I think those are quite plentiful in the junkyard.
One question though...are those disk brakes in the rear? How did you manage that?
