Had troubble finding some seats to fit the 1000 sedan and ute - I ended up getting a set of pulsar buckets outa some import model (they had better covering and bolstering than standard ones) got em cheap cause the car had been rolled and the headreasts were shot ($250pair), but without the headrest they fited nicely in the ute, one of the problems was finding seats that wern't to wide, I butcherd my old seats and fabricated new brackets on the pulsar seat's runners. It took me a whole sunday mucking arround jigging up the brackets, making sure everything was positioned right, but was worth the effort - Had to brush up on my welding skills but it was all simple stuff, my dad got his original seats recoverd for his ute, it cost him the same ammount as it did for me to put in the pulsar buckets.

Check out how much room ya got and head to the wreckers with a tape measure - I'd say its the cheapest way to get good seats.

Why not get the old ones reupholstered? then you have no fitting problems, or engineering hassles. It may not be as much as u think...

i got nothing useful to say about ute seats, but i just wanted to say that my old 1200 engine was wicked! i noticed your signature, and i disagree. I had so much fun with my old 1200 engine, it was as revvy as a rotary, and could beat alot of other cars. 1300cc corolas were nothing, even my friends ap5 valiant, with a warm 360cui engine was struggling to get away from me. so ner!

and guess what, even after cracking the water pump, driving for 4kms WITHOUT water, seizing the engine, putting number 3 piston sideways in the bore...pushed it to the servo, chucked some water in the radiator, started her up, and drove 10kms home on a seized engine. Point proven, cant break a datto, even a 1200cc.

i need to replace my crappy seats that sag, no supprt, creak and gennerally do not perform the characteristics of a..... seat?
Having a ute, i need suggestions on seats that may bolt up to the original runners and that are good and affordable. Oh and that also provide the qualities of a seat! They must also provide me with room to drive in the ute (anyone that has driven one knows). thanks to all.
