The factory solenoids are nothing special afaik. Im sure you could cut into the loom to use the factory boost control solenoid, but the aftermarket controller would be matched to its own solenoid.

Had anyone Intergrated an aftermarket boost control solenoid using the factory ecu wiring?

Ca18 has a 2 map ecu. If knock sensor detects you are running good fuel it switches to the high octane map. The boost solenoid also starts bleeding off boost signal to waste gate actuator to stop it from opening. This has impact or raising the boost 2-3 psi. It is a PWM signal like many other aftermarket boost controllers. You can definitely run without it.

Ok, so I wanna know what the deal is with the boost control solenoid on the ca18det. For starters is it a gradual solenoid or just a on off type? It comes from pin number 5 and is light green on the ecu.

Can I run without it?

Thanks
