Brake pressure is hundreds of pounds, so it will push the piston right back unless the pistons are stuck. If you wer able to insert the pistons with your fingers (did not require hammer, or blows of your fist) then it should be OK.

Air will cause a mushy/soft pedal. Bleeding should make the pedal "hard", firm with small movement of the pedal -- if the rear brakes are adjusted correctly.

Yes for me too i think i have done the correct installation of rubber washer too.could be air in the front system or sticky pistons since those were newly made ones installed and was little hard to push them into the cylinder

Fixed the Master cylinder ,brakes are working very well to the rear but front is little weak , i referred this picture for Putting those rubber washer to the master pump even though it is not datsun assuming this could be the standard way to do them .to get an idea of installation rubber parts , is there any difference in datsun rather than this ?
please advice me if anyone see it is wring this way

D1 is probably a casting improvement, but not important.

managed to find a washer set compatible with these pistons did not fix it it to the car yet seems it is working fine
bench tested it by putting a little oil and it feels much better than my previous one,
casting Number says as "D1" on my new master cylinder is it for a specif vehicle any body got an idea about D1 ?

For the B310, there are several "correct" Masters, each of which take different repair kits. Datsun generally had two OEM providers (Tokico and NABCO) and two versions of those (13/16 and 3/4), and seals are different for all four Masters. Then it could have been replaced in the last 30 years with something different (but still compatible).

For the 13/16 which was used with brake booster, find out if it says NABCO or Tokico on the Master.

Also look for a cast number on it, that may identify it.

Since my master Cylinder was giving trouble i went and bought a 13/16 Tokico Cylinder, it is a direct fit, but i don't know whether it from exactly fro b310 ,because i went and bought set of rubber washer that they said said compatible with b310 but it did not fit properly, can any body confirm me looking at these pistons are they related to the b310 master cylinder it self or from another model are those ?
any body knows what are the exact part no for those washers ?
