Looks like they used GX heads for the porting or some
rare cast with solid port roof, like feral had.

Doesn't seem to be the case from the small pics and the google jap-lish mentioning Arumipate & Devcon!

cool. Can't believe i missed those figures on first page lol.any torque figures on the tomei hirota B110?

I also love the work and dedication of bprojects.Heaps of goodies on their site.

Should make it easier to replicate the TS cars.i hope to atleast one day drive the coupe with the TS cup cars drive terrain.i already have some nismo parts like opt1 gearbox,2 way diff,leafsprings,mk63 benchrated etc etc Hopefully il start assemby next year.same with engine, rims etc etc.a few parts remaining to collect tho.If only i could collect driver experience hahaha

Pitroad TS Cup ports:

They (Pitroad) use an AE86 LSD in an alloy carrier H165 with 4.11 for Fuji and 4.635 for Tsukuba (in an iron carrier). They say H150 is prefferable for weight (4.0kg lighter) but it is hard to get ratios for them.

And a 56A Opt1 5spd
2.676
1.691
1.398
1.182
1.000

You could build a pretty good TS Cup replica from the detailled info they give! And spend a small fortune with them...

someone please post a link as of where the torque figures of the TS cup cars are coming from? ive only ever seen their claims in hp never in torque.maybe unless calculating torque from the hp and rpm figures?

also the drive-terrain the ts cup cars use seems to be neglected by most. They run race transmissions with close gear ratios resulting to more torque to the wheels as compared to using standard gearboxes.Their lsd diffs and their ratios are also suited to their highly tuned engines and gearboxes to work best with their power curves and esp the torque.

yeah I figured you cut'n'paste it from somewhere. At least you could see it wasn't an attack on all things A series, just questioning it based on the astounding jump in specific torque over the other examples.

L18_B110,
I've only posted info i got on other websites. They could be right or wrong.il be posting up links as well. The info is not from a12grunt but from those sources.
and there are discrepancies as you said and prob a mistype.the tomei website quotes it 170ps at 8000rpm whereas the youtube vid of tomei b110 quotes it 170ps at 8500rpm.

Below is the link straight from tomei's website. They haven't quoted anything about the torque.

I should have quoted Feral Errol sooner!
he was always one of the voices of reason against silly power claims.

btw, Feral and I saw eye to eye on horsepower potential of the A series. eg: Quote: feral wrote: Just to throw some cold water on this hot topic, Quote: A14 Nissan engine with A15 crank bored to 78 mm (1568cc) Forged Pistons, Nitrated crank, Race prepped rods ARP Rod bolts, Full engine balance, Nismo lifters, Nismo high volume oil pump, 82 Degree cam, High ported head with Nismo valve springs and stainless steel valves, Steel light weight flywheel with Nismo clutch p/plate and solid centre button clutch, hand made interference sand bent headers, Wolf3D Engine management system with twin DCOE 45mm throttle bodies and HEI Ignition. This engine has been extremely reliable and has consistently out qualified and beaten larger more sophisticated engines in the under 2 litre sports sedans and still hold a number of lap records below is a summary of 3 years of full competition Racing in 1996, 1997 & 1998 From 61 race starts (not inc reverse grid races) 54 podium finishes 28 of them race wins. From 24 qualifying sessions 15 pole positions. Twice national champion and once 1st runner up . State champion once and runner up twice. Class B winner 3 times. Steve Newings 1200 coupe race car ad As an outright contender this car was "NATIONAL" champion - (thats all under 2 litre sports sedans in OZ) against 2 litre cosworth engines and buckets of SR20 powered vehicles of all descriptions. This car with its 165HP @ 7500 rpm and 118 Ft lbs at 5800 RPM managed to wipe them on most circuits even the fast Phillip island circuit occasionally. It must be his horses were Clydesdales and a lot of the quotes being bandied around here are miniature shetland ponies This engine made 105 bhp per litre. A very good (In fact race winning) figure for a two valver.

Steve Newing is one of my local heroes that 10year old efi setup he had on a mostly jap optioned engine made more under the curve than the carbs he often tried, he could make more peak hp with that engine but he preferred reliability. I watched him demolish many uptown cars through the years.

Steve built one of my engines with little things like using 2 full sets to use the lower bearings all round, to get the full oil groove all the way around but these bearings have high lead content and only a little place he found in India where lead was still allowed for making bearings with no care of the resulting toxic sludge.
He spent alot of time on all the engines he built and never short on time for customers and enthusiasts.

Im actually a non believer of the 200+ hp atmo A series, some people believe in it but Id prefer Steves 118ft pounds of torque below 6000rpm than 200hp out of 1.6L A15 at 10,500rpm that if possible would surely last a short life. There was an example posted about such a car in NZ & it looked ridiculously fast yet I do know Steves engines where tuned to last as well and he did mention he made more hp with with less reliability on several of his builds but settled for his race winning A setup for its durability.

A very methodical and amazing individual.
