Guys,
We just bought a sedan rolling shell over the weekend, so will be transferring all the mechanicals over to the sedan body. Parts will be listed up as they become available. Thanks Ed

GUys,
Just a note to to let anybody know who has contacted me regarding parts etc. After much thought, we have decided to get back on the revolving door of 1200's and get another as a donor.. either to donate the front clip, or to transplant the mechanicals. I have received some supportive PM's and replies on here which have swayed me in that direction. so thanks.. no doubt some progress will be posted on the forum in the near future. Cheers Ed

cant claim insurance and repair it? i had a firewall forward swap done to the rallycar for $1500, i supplied the new front end. So not too expensive to even put a whole new front on

Ernie,
I could fix it with a front cut, off another car... but i now have no space to work in nor time. I have my project in the garage now. wasn't really planning on having to fix up the Datsun again... a shame because I just ended the lease on my workshop space. If anybody happens to have a front cut,, feel free to chime in, I could change my mind easily. it's worthwhile for somebody to fix up in preference to parts. Cheers Ed

Ive had some interest in parts but my preference is to move this on as a whole.
I think the price is reasonable so that you could make some money back on parts if you wanted. I would but I don't have the time, the space. I have a 42 Ford pickup project in progress which takes up all my space. We took some pics last weekend and the car to be fixed will need new subframe rails due to damage and rust and also a new rad support due to rust. All other parts of the car are OK, as they were replaced 2 years ago. A good wheel was placed on the front left, and I attempted to show the misalignment. Actual kms on engine is 4,225km since Ernie at ATE built it... so yeah it's basically brand new and it sounds cammy and feels new too... good side. ![]() ![]() damaged side ![]() damaged rear wheel ![]() ![]() engine ![]() inner left front wheel arch / subframe. you can see the deformed metal ![]() another shot ![]() drivers side frame rail you can see the rust and damage from transferred force ![]() Interior.. pretty perfect except for a rub through starting on driver side seat. (not in pic). dash was recovered. ![]() tray is good ![]() as mentioned the price is $3500, plus a tray full of spares and bits. album is here... for some reason pics arent sizing large. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Ed74mnd/library/Datsun%201200 Thanks for looking.
