Nice .. apparently they good and strong motors ...the guy I bought myne from spend about R100000.00 on the motor ..and apparently made 537kw on the dyno .. well ill have to get it up and running and get it dyno to believe it my self

Finally found another member with the same idea i have in mind for my 1972 datsun 1200.. also have the same motor fully built, planning to put it in the car for next season. in the mean time going to try out the conquest engine the car came with

That diff has a snowflakes chance of surviving behind your Mitsi Motor. Andrew Dennis (ca18det_man) used a Mitsubishi diff in his 1200, I think it was from a Sigma Scorpion. you could probably find his old build story. Or you could do a Hilux diff, or a Gazelle H190 with modern offset wheels. That photo of the sill with the paper poking out reminds me of my first 1200 coupe, that had both sills made of newspaper & body putty. I got some new sills made from gal in a thicker guage & replaced them. Made the car much nicer (& safer) to drive.

I believe so ... I bought if without a motor .. but still planning to fix it in the feature.. I just whant it to get the car in running condition at first.

Looks like you're slowly getting there. Good work with the restoration so far.
Oh and the Borg Warner rear axle is stronger than the standard h145. Its about the same strength as a h165 apparently. You can view topic.
