i finally found the magazine with the engine management guide in it,it's zoom no 53 from express publications, back issues could be bought at www.expresspublications.com.au.this is not a complete guide, but is a good cross section.they list about 12 manufacturers, one being link.some of the others are haltech at www.haltech.com,hawk at ww.efihardware.com,fuelogic at www.screaminperformance.com(sounds serious that one),motec at www.motec.com.au,ems at enginemanagementsystem.com,& wolf at www.wolfems.com.au.hope this is useful to you.

Link Electrosystems in NZ make a very good engine management system, programable with either a hand held unit or a PC.
Their website is http://link-electro.co.nz/ I use one of these on my car and I can't fault it.

the old screwdriver adjustable microtech is not worth the effort in my opinion, but microtech have an easy to use tuning handset, which also doubles as a display for temp, volts, etc.also they are able to use nissan factory sensors, particularly the crank angle sensor on a ca18.good stuff, just plug into the existing things.i'll have a look for some links for you,no working furies.paul.

As I've posted before, I'm very lazy. That revelation is important here for two reasons.
First of all, the extra headache of building the system (I got an e-mail answering some of my questions and it does, in fact, arrive as a box of loose electronic bits) on top of tuning it is steering me away from this at the moment. Oh, I'll still buy one I'm sure. But I have some time before they place another batch order for the components. The second reason for mentioning my laziness: Quote: firms like microtech, ems, autronic, hawk(who are from new zealand,i think),all have websites. Would someone be interested in posting some links? Especially about this "scewdriver adjustable" unit! That sounds like the way to go for a Luddite like me.

i'd have thought, with the strength of the american dollar verses the australian dollar, that talking to some of the australian engine management suppliers would be just as cheap.firms like microtech, ems, autronic, hawk(who are from new zealand,i think),all have websites,& us antipodeans have been importing american parts for a while,it'd be good to see the trend bucked.while motec are the high end of the market, there is a lot of good quality systems readily available.that way you've got a factory warranty for the product,& if they stiff you,im sure there are people here who'll go around & break their legs for you,for a consideration or two.

I think you do get a big box of diodes, chips, transistors, capacitors and continuum transfunctioners. I read the intsructions on their web page. I think the transfunctioner is soldered on first. The FAQ page answers some of those questions, although i thought some of the answers to be a bit arrogant.
I guess for 100 something dollars (not including fuelpump, injectors, ugliest intake, etc) you cant lose. If it doesnt work, you could use it as a timer for you lawn sprinklers. You can view topic.
