Top cap was warped and couldn't get a proper seal, fuel pump was leaking.

Replaced the carb and fuel pump for new ones.

Car now runs fine.

Regarding the fuel flowing out near the accelerator pump:

* if the fuel level in the sight glass is on the dot, it means the needle valve is good and properly adjusted.

* it does not mean you have the wrong gasket. Carefully inspect the gasket to see if it lines up correctly. Make sure it is not upside down.

* Do not over tighten the top as it can warp. The screws should be finger tight

* most importantly, remove the pump plunger and verify the BB is under the spring. Verify that the pointed weight is down in the next hole. These comprise the check valves for pump fuel flow

Yes, it will stall if idle speed is too low
It will stall if idle mixture setting is off
It will stall if throttle bushings are worn out
It will stall if vacuum hose is leaking
It will stall if distributor diaphragm is leaking
Etc

You can always set idle to 1000 rpm to mitigate some of these causes.

The carburetor is a precision device, and if its off a little bit it won't work quite right.

Went down to the parts store today.
checked the book from behind the counter.

The gasket kit i bought suits my carb model.
DCG306.

Recarb brand rebuild kit, HT05L which replaces HT-412L or written in pen GC005

Ordered a second kit to try another gasket.

I everything is clean, so i have no idea why it would leak fuel when i press the accelerator pump.

Adjusted float and needle was changed to the new one in the kit. (also tried with my old one)

Replaced the PCV valve, now have new crank case hose and rocker cover to air cleaner hoses ordered from Nissan, $111 later for two hoses.

New exhaust/intake manifold gasket.

tried with the old PCV hoses connected and clamped, tried with the PCV valve covered by a rubber vacuum cap to see if anything is leaking there.

New vacuum hose to the distributor.

I have cleaned and air guned every single part, plus the new throttle chamber comes with new idle screw and was genuine Hitachi new in packet.

and still my car randomly stalls at when stopping at intersections. AArgh!

Gee maybe I should ask to tune mine I have putting up with this same problem for a while I just heal and toe at every set of lights

Have you tried to clean your idle screw with air pressure? often a small bit of dirt or fuel debris/gunk gets stuck/wedged there and causes bad idling/stop at traffic etc.

No no no. No gasket sealer.

I've had this problem before (leaking at the accelerator pump).
1. Check sight glass and if its not on the dot, reset the float level
2. Ensure the petrol is coming through the accelerator pump nozzle. For example if the wrong top gasket was used, this will happen

Anti diesel valve or solenoid? It cuts off the fuel supply to the idle circuit. It sticks out the side and I saw the hole in the eBay pic. Make sure it is energized and that the plunger retracts.

I recieved my new throttle chamber yesterday and assembled my carb.

Fixed up a second hand manifold by replacing the worn heat riser flap shaft with an ejector pin from an injection moulding tool.

My carb is now leaking from the top gasket near my accelerator pump.
Should i be using a gasket sealant of some kind?
