if you fix the leak and keep the right amount of oil in there it should run for years and years

i am new to working on datsuns i currently have a datsun 1000 coupe running a A12 with mildcam everything else stock, i am wondering if i should take the engine out myself and do a engine overhaul or take it to a workshop someone could recommend in the southeast melbourne area. engine started leaking oil from the oil pan and engine oil light has come one recently, and i am worried as i use the car as my daily for work at the moment, if anyone has any advice please help me out. thanks
