It looks like I will have to find a pair of original seats for my ute.

you'll need to get a Modification Plate from an 'Approved Person' in QLD. You can get a list of Approved Persons in your area from Qld Transport.

Regulations change from state to state. In Victoria you need an Engineers Certificate to fit aftermarket seats. There are a bunch of specs that need to be met to fit them in correctly according to the regulations. If you are in Vic then this might be handy, otherwise your state might have something similar? http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/road ... on/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx

Hi,

I am wondering what problems people have had with getting rego with after market seats installed in there 1200's (utes in particular). I have a pair of seats that I am wanting to put in but unsure if it will cause any issues with compliance/rego/insurance. I don't have the original seats so would like to know what options I have.
