Yes, connect the brake booster hose to the inlet manifold.

the brake line yes as my diaphram brake booster previously wasn't hooked up to the manifold on the a12 so imnot sure what to do with that one

The EGR valve stays closed unless vacuum is supplied.

Brake line, switch and valve? Is that a new question?

oh cool so it doesn't open? so the only thing id need to do is hook.up the brake line and leave tje switch and valve? I was just worried the valve would open causing a leak and that the carb may not be set up..

thanks for the advice David.. sorry such a newb

What I would do is leave the EGR valve in place, as it plugs the holes. As long as the vacuum hose is not connected, it won't have any effect on the engine.

thanks dd and what about the egr bit with the vacuum diaphragm? just remove it if it's there and blanking plate it? do you know a good place to get plugs made up? do would I just take the manifold and screw bit to an engineers shop?

You only need to make it operable if the EPA requires it for your application. The engine doesn't need it. The holes in the manifold need to be plugged.

I'm just reading the tech wiki on egr.. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/?title=EGR.. If my manifold is set up for it.. do I have to hook it up? I was hoping to just leave it off? or is it necessary to get the engine running right if it was fitted?

Cheers,
Tom
