Not entirely. Spring cups were cut and 1200 cups adapted. I used the steering arms from a C210 which bolt to 1200 lower ball joints (same as stanza if lower control arm mod is done) and 1200 steering ball joints. 1200 top spring cup was tapped on over new gas shocks and a new 1200 top bearing. I used adjustable camber mounts, but stock 1200 tops can be used. 2" low springs and the car sits nice and firm. Im running 10" vent with 4 spots and use 14x6" rims. Clearences are close on either side of rim but are acceptable. It stops really well and handles unbelievably good.

Yeah l've been trying to avoid getting adjustable top plates, for half decent ones you pay up around $400.
However l thought also that some hubs/disks were offset differently, and l guess it also depends on the stub angle in relation to the strut. I've only got the drum struts to compare with the 1600, but they are offset differently. It appears that the 1600 struts require much more strut angle to achieve the same camber even using the same arms. Think l might just make my own top plates, to give the camber l want, and save money.

camber adjustment is a function of either the top mount or lower arm set up. if u want more camber but dont want your wheels to rub on the guards then the only options are to flare the guards or get adjustable top plates. If you try to modify the lower arms to get more -ve camber youll push the wheels out further and theyll rub like feck. best bet is to go for the top plates coz you can set the slot on an angle towards the firewall and acheve more caster at the same time.

i second that, i was told/read that stanza struts would give me 1 degree negative, but they are as positive as ever

Datpower
Datsun 180b and Datsun Stanza's are different models. Stanza use a solid diff setup using trailing arm links and 180b has IRS. Stanza has L16 and 180b L18. Stanza has sqaure headlights to. Essentially, the struts are the same. Same rotor/ caliper upgrades, length etc. C210 Skyline struts are similar again but shorter in length thus allowing more travel if the car is lower. No camber changes will occur if you change a strut on a 1200 with a Stanza/180b/C210 Skyline strut Scott

if the stanza struts fit, which they probably will, they will bolt straght on to the 1200 or 1600 lower arms and therefore wont change the camber.

I have heard about the stanza strut upgrade and that r31 calipers bolt straight on. What l am wondering is about the camber...
will l start with +ve camber and then barely be able to get any -ve camber... I don't wont to move the lower arms out any further as l want the car low, and the tyres will rub the guard (already extremely close) also does anyone know if stanza struts have similar camber (standard) to 1600 struts??
