A weber 32/36 is a fairly common alternative, these are available on ebay or via the classifieds.
I personally like the weber 28/36 DCD variant but that is just a preference. If you get stuck I have some weber carburettors but the freight is so expensive from me to you. Good luck. Chris

they ran ok no problem at all. yes a15 carbs have different jets, but they have different venturi too.

I ran a stock A15 carb on my A12. It ran well, but not perfect close to idle. So check the float level.
Bigger jets doesn't mean richer, since it is the combo of main/air that matters. Also A12 and A15 carbs have different venturi sizes, so same jets will act different.

pretty sure the a12 carby has bigger/better jetting than an a15 one.
i may or may not be correct though so wait for someone else to give their thoughts.
