Hey Harry,
Do you go out much?? email me at dragongoose@hotmail.com and let me know when you will be out in town or there abouts. Wouldn't mind going out sometimes, I haven't been out in two years now. Also While I am working on the Sunny, I may even help out with set up as well. Besides I think theres some more ideas to be had yet. Allan

Well this might crak you up, I found the centre for the hole by lining up the original clutch pedal straight through the mounting bracket and firewall and drilled a hole staight through it between the two studs you see on the firewall ......then I worked up to the correct diameter hole to the clutch master cyl. I used the 180sx clutch master, from the half cut, I then machined the mounts on the master back comletely and pressed a new fabricated bracket onto the master with matched offset on the braket to the studs on the firewall. Then you have to drill a hole the right height onto the pedal for the fork to connect. good thing this is adjustable. I hope it made sense. I passed the Mod Plate inspection too

allan,i never got that far,but the idea was probably to get stanza stuff like the clutch pedal, master cylinder, etc & mount it in the pedal box.maybe 120y as there is an l series variant,& all the 120y's ive seen have provision to mount hyraulic's,you just have to cut the hole in the firewall,it even has two mounting studs in the right place.another trick i've done is to get the brake pedal from an automatic sunny, this makes it easier for the left foot to find the brake pedal during static linelockers(burnouts).what clutch pedal did you use,by the way.

Dats right Harry small world..... just like a full stop .
Hey I'll let you know when I see you next when my house warming party is OK coz my house is getting built..should be finished in the next two months. Hey I thought you were great I mean them the breaks when we lose it but you were out there having a ball I was sitting jealous as hell My mind was like I want I want I want I wanna go (cry)........lol Well I didn't do any mods to the tunnel I just made sure i got the motor sitting as low as possible as close the sump is allowed to the engine crossmember as possible and then fabricated the gearbox crossmember afterwards... that way the centre of gravity is lower and its all neat fit and guess what I can put a charger on top of the tappet cover and still close the bonnet..now is that low or what... :o) Well just imagine the line from front of engine crank through the gearbox all the way back to the diff now theres not much of an angle in the uni joints its almost level all the way back which also improves vibration and harmonics...( I hope) The only major drama I had was the clutch conversion. How did you do yours??

hi allan, the front brakes i have in the car at the moment are early 200b struts, with adjustable spring perches,& some old monroe shocks & pedders springs, though i have the verada disc/commodore caliper'ed 180b struts sitting in a cupbord for when a friends a15 goes in.another question is what gearbox did you use,& how much cutting of the transmission tunnel was involved.when i did the sr20 into a sunny(which i never finished) the tunnel had to be cut,& a large square box welded in to cover the gear lever housing.this was with the standard s13 sr20 box.i still have the running gear,so want to know what other people have used that might be easier.as for getting the gazelle diff,a fellow by the name of gerard bauch from the ozdat site offered me one about 2 months ago,& he is in brisbane.his email is gbaulch@hn.ozemail.com.au.

arrrgghhh! Someone saw me in the zed!
small world huh! I would have denied ever being in that car but one of my 'mates' got video of it! Embarassing 1st corner spin and all... that thing was having severe handling problems - as you might have noticed... turned out to be the rear tyres, which had completely gone off. You should have seen me drive it that night when we put my 1200's tyres on the back of it well that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!see you there! Harry

yeah, I was there with a mate with a white 240Z, but there were a few other 1200 coupes there as well. That was a round of the QLD Super Sprint Series didn't have a great weekend - a mate convinced me to try his old L20 instead of my L18, but it was alot slower. I now have the L18 back in the car and a few suspension tweaks that have improved the handling out of sight
My next event is a sprint out at Morgan Park on Saturday Oct 5. Starts at about midday and runs through until about 8pm We will be using the new full curcuit (daytime) and I can't wait. John Spencer will be there as well in his 1600. You might have heard of him - he won Classic Adelaide in that car a couple of years ago. Plus quite a few other fast cars from various clubs, but he will be the standout performer... Harry

You weren't at Morgan Park some time ago with mates in a 240z were you....just I think there was a guy there with a 1200 Coupe racing????? I dunno.....hey let me know when you go for an outing again.. I am very interested...My other half loves it too.

yeah Allan, my real name is Harry. I don't circuit race in improved production, just single or multi car speed events in the improved production class - Sprints and Hillclimbs, the occassional autocross... that kind of thing.
To go circuit racing requires a higher lever licence ($$) and more safety equipment ($$$) such as an approved rollcage, external battery isolation switch, window net etc to get your car log booked. Plus you need better brakes to last 10 or 15 laps, and have to be willing to get a bit of panel damage every once in a while. I would love to have a go at it, but I am quite happy doing these events. It's great fun and you only need basic safety gear, so it is accessible and affordable to everyone. Have you ever though about getting involved? Harry You can view topic.
