you can get some big convex stick on mirrors to cover the whole shebang flat mirror for trucks and caravans which work well for the passenger side.

Stock 1200 fender mirrors have flat glass. Convex are nicer but illegal in some places.
The further forward they are placed, the better they work (will have no blind spot). The stock fenders are built with a flat place underneath at 817 mm.

Hi Nick,
I went with 750mm which is about as far aft as I would go. I had them installed much further forward on a previous car and decided to bring them back a bit. They are located just outside centre of the guard centreline and they are Datsun 1000 sports option mirrors with a 16mm pin and 5mm dowel. Happy with the fitment but will look for convex glass as I unknowingly purchased flat. You can view topic.
