So I emailed maddat and asked if they had a koni adjustable rear for the UTE. Not listed on their site, but apparently it's a thing for $380 a pair.

Yes, those will bolt onto the 1200 ute. KONI 80-1904 is direct replacement for 1200 Wagon, only the rebound spec is lighter than the ute. May even work better than stock ute type unless you're hauling the full 500 kg

If you don't want to buy the 1200 ute-specific shock (KYB 443066), then I think the custom pedders might be a good way to go! they might be spendy but its something you'll enjoy every time you drive your car

Falcon XF Ute specs:
* up to 820 kg load capacity
* kerb weight 1,350 kg
* shock specs unknown

1200 Ute specs:
* 500 kg load capacity
* kerb weight 740 kg
* Rebound kgN 93-127
* Compression 32-50

I suspect the specs are not even close, since it's a much heavier car. Using the wrong spec absorbers mean you loose traction. Usually aftermarket shocks are too stiff so that when you go round curves with slight bumps, the wheels "skitter", not a good thing. Add to that if you are using heavier wheels & tires than stock, it throws the formula right out the window. Solution is to get adjustable shocks like peddars

Yes
* KYB is Nissan part number 56210-G1000
* KONI never made a ute shock

For a list of other manufacturers, see Truck Shocks

Yes. More info needed. I cannot find the right looking VW Passat Wagon shocks online anywhere. I must be looking at the wrong year. I tried from 2006 upwards.
