Is your M22 block stamped 'A12A' on the flat area above the distributor boss? If so it would be a good block to fit an A14 crank into.

All A12s have a double-roller timing chain. It is one tough engine.

Violi that block was left in the elements
no mains caps, really alot of work to do up Best use your stock A12 block with A14 crank. Its easy and nice bump up in mid range.

GX block is the same as regular 1200 block. GX came with dish pistons or with flat.
1. Is an M22 block, newer style 2. Looks like M08 block

GX Block would have flat tops, front dizzie and a unique water pipe into the side of the block. Yours has dished pistons, front dizzie and the water pipe has been cut short.
A12T had dished pistons but the dizzie was mid mounted. Apart from that, unfortunately there isn't much more to prove that it is a GX block as they didn't have too much extra. You can view topic.
