Unfortunately its wrong. Its just packaging convenience with lesser being tax and larger factor being economy. They are comparing a 6.2 NA vs 4.0 Twin Turbo which is unfair for the NA even with capacity increase also the following comments show further insight how these comparisons are failed.
Even economy is not a good reason with the price of fuel atm but it plays a part on an industry that tries to see the future with the price of petrol but not the war games the big wigs play. http://blog.caranddriver.com/why-0-5- ... automotive-engine-design/ There are so many variables in a piston engine but for me the future is electric not inefficient fuel cells with heatpump recovery systems and max 60% efficiency but simple electric motors with highly advanced battery storage solutions. The new Tesla is leading the way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG6veF ... 22579428&x-yt-cl=85114404 now if they made it into a minivan or mini truck as a delivery or work unit :)

And the future is now. The German car industry has moved to 2.0 l fours, 3.0 l sixes and downsized to 4.0 l eights. And if more power is needed, add a turbo.
