Hey Trav,

I think it might have been the original colour but I have no idea what the paint code is and I can't find it anywhere on the tags.

My grandfather had it painted a few years ago and it was most likely matched as close as possible so it's probably not the exact original colour.

My grandfather has since passed away so I have no way of knowing.

This one looks exceptionally good, maybe because of the black wheels and grille.

Thanks for the tips RC. Will definitely get them powdercoated. The more i look at pics of your coupe the more my mind is made up. I have been tossing up a few colour combos lately but this is the one thats really sticking. Im an early 80's kid too so maybe that does have something to do with it.

if you go that way get them powdercoated, i've never had any chips on them, when i originally sprayed them with primer and rattle cans they chipped up badly in a couple of months of road use

cost me $140 i think for two bumpers and 2 door handles, satin black

i think it works on my colour, maybe not so much the white, not so much of a fan on the dark cars, i had light metalic silver bumpers on my purple ute, they looked good too

it's all up to preference and i think dd hit the nail on the head.. it's more 80's styling, which for me is something i always leaned towards more than 70s becuase i was born in early 80s and thats what i saw as a kid/teenager

What about 1200rallycar's orange coupe??? This is my inspiration...

I think it looks great!

Im thinking of doing the same style with black bars, handles and grill with no chrome but on a canary yellow sedan. Was then either thinking black watanabes or superlights too. It will definately be different....

I might just have to play around with photoshop to get a better idea.

Yes, I agree it looks best on dark cars.

see what I mean - black bumpers on light coloured cars doesn't look all that good, to me anyway.

I painted the bumpers on Andrew's old white coupe dark metallic grey to go with the flares and the spoiler I was going to mount off the front bumper
