Hi AFRacer
When I wrote that my engine was built for 200hp I meant that every part used is either changed to better or modified to cope for 200hp, the fuelpump+regulator+fuellines are bigger (250hp), the IHIRHB5 gives 208hp, (if that isn

The A15 is significantly lighter than the L16, plus it nearly bolts right in (just the motor mounts need a little work). So generally speaking it's a better choice. I've never heard that the L-series had any real engineering advantage (breathing, strength, etc) over the a-series, OHC notwithstanding.
However, putting an L18 in is a good, inexpensive way (if you do the work yourself) to boost engine size, thus power over the A15. That KA24-powered 1200 recently offered for sale was (reportedly) very fast for a non-turbo car. It's twice the capacity of the A12, think about that.

I have always wanted to build a turbo A-14 or A-15, and I have most of the parts to do it, but want to build an engine the right way for it first. I've already got the fuel injection, a good IHI RHB-5 turbo, and dual valve springs waiting for it. When you say the engine was built for 200hp what does that entail??? What kind of camshaft/specs are you using? I want to wait till I get to Japan before I would build the engine for it so I can get some goodies from Pit Road. Then again part of me says it's probably cheaper to just throw in a bigger/different engine! I just don't know!!! But there is always more potential if I start with a bigger/newer engine. The internal debate continues..... CA18DET or Turbo A-15 or KA24DE or ?????
