Good to hear of your progress. Have you tried vinyl paint? Not sure how durable it is on a Steering Wheel, but it is designed to stick to plastic parts
Some of the Steering Wheel play is removable by adjusting the Steering Gearbox. Just be sure to not adjust away all the play, new 1200s need some play in the steering system. See Steering Gearbox Adjustment

Hello my fellows Dat enthusiast. Been sometime since my last post, I will post some picture later of the little stuff i have done on the car lately, some of those are.
Change both of the rear passenger latches (NOS) Change the rear glass and put a NOS original seal. polished the hell out of the trim too. New aftermarket door seals. New aftermarket trunk seal. Bought a new battery and a dummy top to simulate a correct period one. I will post pictures of all during the week. And finally a big Thanks to all members that help me source or sold me parts and the vast knowledge about Datsun 1200, especially DD.

Thanks DD. You were absolutely right shine as the way to go, should match the shift knob, witch is new too.
It looks better on pictures than it really is. I am planning on re-do it again. I chip it and try to fix it, but it is obvious. I thinking on using some kind of epoxy paint, spray cans are good but not as durable. Other thing is that the paint didn't match with the shift knob, so I thinking on getting to a paint shop and get it to match. I am getting too obsess with this Coupe. I replace the center bushing on the steering wheel, feels great, have some play that I would like to get rid of it soon.
