In my old 1200 coupe i was running a 4x25 kenwood CD tuner, Kicker mids and splits with crossovers, Pioneer 6x9 3ways, 2 15inch rockwell subs (Which sat neatly in the boot with no space left mind you) powered by a 400W Power Acoustic amp. It was loud

you want to hear nice engine note,i've got a cd of race cars owned by nick mason, track 5 is a 1956 brm 1.5 litre v16 with two stage supercharging, this is the f1 car that had the record for most hp per litreuntil the turbo craziness of the 80's.it is AWESOME.the cd is from the book INTO THE RED,& is two laps of the donington curcuit, from the pits,as the car kept frying any recording equipment in car.to say it's loud is an extreme uderstatement,& it lasts for 5 minutes.there is actually 3 distinct engine notes as the car revs out.this is the best track to play in car in traffic,as everyone is wondering what the hell it is.most guess top fuel rail.& there are another 12 tracks on the cd,ranging from 1900 racer to mid fifties d type jag,to mid sixties ferrari,to mid 80's tyrell f1,& porsche 956.& the books an excellent read as well.bunny.

Enzo always said the finely-tuned engine was music enough for a great car. On that thought this discussion is telling

I've got a Pioneer Headunit with a 12stacker hooked up to it, a pair of Pioneer Powerblade component speakers with passive crossovers, noname 150WRMS 6x9's in the back, Response 4x100WRMS Amp running a sing 12" Earthquake magma sub, running 150WRMS into each coil of the sub. I have recorded a 139.5dB in my coupe, which I was VERY happy. The enclosure for teh earthquake sub is a custom made one to earthquakes specs. GOES VERY HARD!!!

hi all. i have found it easier to use door pods if mounting any speakers in the doors. by doing this you dont have to cut any from the door itself. although they can be a bit expensive they are more practical and the look so much better

i've got a am/fm stereo unit from a lx bluebird with 2 cheap 4 inch jaycar speakers, but it is a racecar & weight is the enemy.seriously,i use the cassette player connection on the back of the unit to play cd's though, with a sony portable cd player on long trips to goulburn or bathurst.

yeah well i have 6inch soundstreams in the kick panels which also have cross overs under the dash that support my tweeters on the dash.
Me and mate (Tudoy) installed the 6x9s in my doors. if you putting 6x9s in the doors you got put the on an angle otherwise your cutting to much out of the doors. (the less you cut the better). make sure before you install speakers that window doesnt hit the speaker inside the door and also the window handle. i amped the 6x9s with a 252watt kick amp which is sitting under the drivers side, the reason for that is my exhaust goes under the passanger side and heats the floor abit so it was better for drivers side. all the wires going to amp are neatly tucked uder carpet. i havent put sound proof stuff in the doors i dont get any window shaking or anything so i am happy with that. that is about it next step a nice subbbie the sound quality is wicked i got Kenwood 6x9s, Soundestream 6inch ,Tweeters, kicker amp, pinoerrrrr 45x4 frankenstien system bits of everytinhg You can view topic.
