1. Remove Steering Wheel
2. Unbolt column from dash
3. Unscrew weather shield from firewall

Then either:
* Remove pittman arm from box (hard to do) using a gear puller
or
* remove pittman arm from drag link (easy to do) use a ball-stud puller

The local auto parts stores rent ball stud pullers

#1 Help with Steering Column/Box
sunnyd Posted on: 2016/4/14 23:40
Hey guys, I browsed the wikis here on this page and cannot figure out how to remove the steering box. I have removed the column, and as you can see in the photos, I have removed the nut holding the steering box in place. However, I cannot get the darn thing out. Is there some kind of trick to it that I am not aware of? It looks as if it should just lift right off, but it does not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
