The Wiki link shows the E15 pistons from a SOHC engine that may work in the A15 engine. I like the dish compared to the off centered A15 dish. Wonder if anyone on this forum has tried those pistons and what it did to the compression.

Yes that is a good read. For my application, this motor is going in a MG Midget and will be a weekend driver. Cast iron appears to be the right choice. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. Found them on eBay for $60 for both main and rod bearings. Feel good about staying with tri metal. Now tasked with finding quality rings. Hastings seems to be good. Called them earlier and they recommended moly coated rings. Read on Ratsun forum where chrome rings may not seat properly. My bores were only honed. Not sure what original A series rings are made of. Any suggestions?

Try part number MS-1107 P for the main bearings.
I cheated with the PN... Had a box of main bearings purchased from Dan Hall many years ago sitting on the shelf. Info- https://www.go-parts.com/clevite-77/clevite-main-bearings/ms1107p/i-463054.aspx

That is for the piston rods. Clevite doesn't show anything for crankshaft bearings. Will have to check into the manufacturers that do offer them through rock auto.

All A-series use the same bearings, from A12 to A15, 1970-1994. The E15 is a different engine family

Clevite Tri-metal bearings

Did a lot of research on finding tri-metal bearings for my 1981 A15 (1488cc) motor. Highly recommended to go back with the same type of bearing. Most manufacturers that I spoke with provide bi-metal after market bearings. They say bi-metal are more forgiving. I am doing a mild rebuild and replacing both main and connecting rod bearings. The Clevite catalog shows they carry tri-metal for the same engine cc but for the years 1982-1983 and referenced as an E15 engine. The same bearings are also used for the 1597cc engine. When I called a supplier with the Clevite part number, they said it didn't cross over to the 210 vehicle. Are these the correct bearings for my 210 motor? DD.........
