nicer if the had a cutout to protect them too
on these cheaper Leaf's I can see they are abuse rentals where no care was given for charge needs Nissan should really have a built in guidance to nearest charge station before batts are compromised

Yes, the bars on the far right are a direct gauge of virility of the battery. Wouldn't it be nice if all batteries had this feature?

Im still not fitting into the party :(
so whats the best way to tell if the battery has lost some of its original virility by looking at the small bars on the far right?

Quote:Looks like it is down 3-bars, in other words, battery is getting worn out. As I recall when I researched a few months ago, most of the oldest leafs in USA are only down 1 or 2 bars

The state of charge and the capacity have little to do with each other
SOC: How charged the battery is (fully charged vs needs charging) Capacity: How good the battery is (like-new vs worn out)

So the state of charge is just deceiving in the graphic form

You can have a perfectly good battery (100% Capacity, for example a new car) and still have it needing a charge after driving a hundred miles
So there are two gauges ... for buying a used Leaf, the 2nd gauge is the important one

If the capacity is the thin one on the right, and the charge is the large set of bars just left of it, then why is the charge higher than the capacity in DD's second photo?
Is it supposed to be that it is 95ish% of the lowered capacity? I'd expect that the charge's maximum limit would decrease parallel to the maximum capacity. You can view topic.
