new E16 crank is only $170 shipping internationally
And you can get offset ground stroker cranks, but I dunno how those would fit the A14/A15 block

Nissan is making tons of RWD vehicles now, not only the pickups and SUVs but also sedans like the M45 and Q50
E16 bolts up to the RWD gearboxes

![]() ![]() you could say the A series is a FWD as well :) A E GA & QG can all use the A series rwd boxes for rwd setup but could also use vanette or van boxes using the GA http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... .php?title=GA_Engine_Swap

D i have not really considered E15 cos they fwd geez can't remember when last nissan made a small rwd. I must have one of the few rwd cars nissan has made [350z] but this thing is like a tank and now it's a garage queen.I like the exa turbo but again it's fwd.Any ideas

I would take Rallytwits advice and go directly for an E16 with e15et hardware and ecu
the E series is the ultimate lightweight incarnation of the A series, they weigh very little in fact no more than a 3 bearing A10 datsun 1000 engine. Im crazy about weight reduction like Rallytwit and had an interesting situation arise when I was getting rid of my collection of engines on the last day in Melbourne. I couldnt sell an A12gx motor which I thought was stock standard except later found out it was a speedway engine and outlived the full spec race head that bent one of the roller rocker shafts as it spun to 12K rpm yet finished the race behind a hellbent pilot. The guy i gave it away to pulled it apart to reveal a meticulously knife edged crank, custom I beam rods with slipper bike pistons of some kind and other mods like painted on the inside with some oil lines to spray the cam and under the pistons. after weighing many engines including A10, 12, 14 and a and e15s I reckon you cant go wrong with the E series considering some drag racing pulsars were hitting close to 500hp with their built E15ets.

Thanks D. Geez i'm sitting here trying to take in what is said then my wife say's my phone is'nt working and i check all contacts, whatsapp gone, logs gone ah man i'm just pissed off.I've looked at bike motors then think no no i don't want oil problems --then rotary then think no no once you got a rotary it's tips and seals at a BIG price. SR20det oh geez when i think of the importers i get sick The motor has some name brand head gasket and oil cap then they advertise it as a race motor. I just wanted an A14 with a E16 crank [as per lemonhead] but this time turbo --Oh yeah the engine and gearbox co send me an email ''sorry no A15 engine but we have A14 for R9k --geez don't know what they smoking

Its just the tinkerer in me and road regulations such as engineering
that Id love to see an A12 or A14 with 88mm stroke e16 crank running either the e15et sohc hemi crossflow head knows to make 30% more hp than the A series wedge and then the mazda or vauxhall cosworth style heads which would make full use of the undersquare stroker A series bottom end with the extra turbulence complimenting the extra head flow. I still keep an eye out for a local B10 for such a Frankenstein setup. However the search often often ends with excessive rust! The speedway or circle track guys still run the e15et heads on A series from last I heard vs 4age and other honda engines. Dont look bad with webs! ![]()

Someone on hear gave a brief description of what needed to be done; I seem to recall the rear of the crank needed modifying to fit the A14/15 flywheel and you needed either custom rods or custom pistons.
I've given thought to using the E-series crank but the work and cost for me would be better invested in to the cylinder head. D I've also toyed with twin or single cam head on A14/15 bottom end but unless you're running a race class that requires stock block it would be just as effective to just go with an engine swap. Now of course if you just want to have something unique or as with the Mazda twin cam just to see what you can do then it makes sense. Tom

best run an e16 crank with a sohc or twin cam 16v nissan, mazda or vauxhall head
