weird thing is in Japan any 210 that is not swiss cheese with rust
is worth minimum 10,000 usd. They have a bigger following for some
reason than the 1200 and heaps of people prefer them over the ae86.
Nismo did very well in the 80s with the 210 and 310 so that could
be a reason for it to be so desired and with a hot A series! no LZ
or other fancy engine but the A "gatta" as its termed is legendary.

Trade the wife's mother in law for the 210 and solve all your problems :)

Simple solution tell the guy you'll take it but you only want the motor and tranny. It shouldn't take you more than an hour to pull the box, tell the seller they can do whatever he likes with the chassis. At worst they'll get another $100 out of,it for scrap.

I think my wife will kill me if I bring home another Datsun, even if it's just to pull the drivetrain and haul the rest off to the salvage yard.

Maybe I can hide the engine behind my workshop. That'll totally succeed, right?
