Yeah I've thought give it a good hone and call it a day.

"Flexihone". Brilliant for this type of application.

would the scoring be gone with a good hone?
more torque from most gears is where the a15 would also shine. They are such simple engines.

Sooooooo while I was talking with a buddy we surmised that if I put a fresh cylinder head on my formerly brand new A15 now with light scoring on the bores in two cylinders that it would still make more power than installing the head on the fresh A12 bottom end.
The A12 will likely make 80whp, my 5 season old A15 made 99whp, so the thought is even if the bores resulted in a 10hp loss 90 is still more than 80. I'm going to bolt on one of the street heads and do a leak down to see if this is remotely viable. It's defective logic I know but I've got an event in 60 days and I'm likely going to pull either motor and do some sort of upgrade or motor swap for 2020. Note I haven't pulled the short block from the car yet. You can view topic.
