I have both z31 and 240z inserts. The thread pitch is different between the two and off the top of my head the z31 is shorter. The 240z insert did not suit the nuts for the datsport camber tops.

Any particular reason you want 240Z inserts? Specific damping rates or something?

The 300ZX inserts, though shorter, fit A10 Stanza struts
* They have more travel than 240Z inserts
* They will fit unmodified A10 strut, and they will also fit A10 struts that have been modified for adjustable coilovers
* Some brands fit perfect
* Other brands fit tightly/need sanding

Thanks for the information. Ideally I would like the 240z inserts to put into Stanza struts but finding a set at an affordable price is becoming challenging. So any leads appreciated

Koni yellow z31 shocks are 355 from memory. A few of us are using them in stanza/200b struts.
Need to sand the powder coating down a little to slide them into the strut tube

Doubtful you'll find the answers on this site as 240Z struts are not commonly used with Datsun 1200. All I know is that the 280ZX and 300ZX cartridges are shorter than 240Z

You can find Length in strut cartridge catalogs, like the Monroe catalog

Specs on Top Nut and shaft diameter is more difficult to find, and some inserts used a stepped shaft (smaller diameter nut than the rest of the shaft), so even if you find the nut size (M12 or whatever) they can still be different

Been searching but can’t find the answers

What is the difference between 240z and 300zx front strut shock obsorber inserts?
In particular length.

Are the top of the strut insert (nut and diameter) the same between stanza, 240z and 300zx ?

Cheers
