Troféu Datsun 1200 was last held 2011 i think, though maybe it was rolled into the PT classics racing series

Tom, Re: 2020 PGP, we got us a convoy, good buddy! Looking at my Swear Jar $ on top of the 'fridge for funding. Might be able to fund both of us with the proceeds of that.

Stan given I drive in a somewhat enthusiastic manner, the large group of spectators might appreciate the Pokey but given I also pass in places people think you can't the organizers might not appreciate the Pokey or at least it's driver.
Pam has cousins in Pittsburgh so the event has always tempted me and I once did the math; $1500 in gas for the camper van, $525 entry, $300 for food, $100 in gas for the Pokey........call it $2,400.00 for one race which is pretty much what I'm spending on 2 VARA weekends and 4 track days............it makes no sense whatsoever to go to the PVGP.......which is why it's so tempting!!!! As for Pau and the unforgiving armco.........all the more reason to drive like a hooligan.

I was looking through the 'historique' photo set above (thanks DD!) and noticed that while the blue 1200 coupe showed up in a lot of the pics, the grey 1200 sedan showed up in several also. Perhaps this car is a refugee from the Portuguese 1200 sedan spec racing series of yore?

The Pau street race certainly looks like a blast, demanding one's complete attention! Put one wheel wrong and it's Armco for lunch.
Rallytwit & OgreInc dream of attending the U.S. version of this in Pittsburgh's Schenley Park, where there's a lot less Armco and a lot more stone walls & trees. ( https://www.pvgp.org/ ) All it will take is a massive GoFundMe effort for race refreshing, cross-continent travel expenses and entry fees. ![]() Watch and fantasize here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL12rEsqmyY

The Grand Prix de Pau is a motor race held in Pau, southwestern France. The race takes place around the centre of the city, where public roads are closed to form a street circuit -- similar in style and looks to Monte Carlo
The Historique is held a week before or after the Grand Prix https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pau_Grand_Prix#Historic_Grand_Prix this Datsun 1200 Coupe raced at the 2017 Historique ![]() You can view topic.
