ive been wondering what a 1200 would look like with a flat bed on the back instead of the whole ute enclosure thing, or maybe no back at all, just to emphasise the small size Ive seen one. A bloke on the south side of Brissy had a rearender that just took out the tray sides on his ute, but did not touch the chassis/suspension rails. He has tags on it so I guess it is legal. Looks really cool. He has some good HP as he has custom rear wheel arches and 225 on the back and still seems to struggle with traction. The ute looks really cool, but his alloy tray is longer than std styleside length but is still makes the car look heaps smaller.

Yer That would look a bit different. No hassles about standing in the croud! But it make it even more harder to get traction.
I'll look at putting a timber tray, some ozzy hard wood.

I think that I would only put a flat tray on the back of a 1200 if the normal bit was beyond repair or something.
But yeah, I was thinking the same thing about having a flat back 1200 ute the other week. I would be worth more if you kept the normal tray anyway.
